Head Varsity Coach
Robert Dowhen
(4th Season at Kouts, 7th Career)
Robert Dowhen became the first head coach of the Kouts High School men's varsity soccer program in 2008, and was hired in 2007 to coach the Mustangs in their last JV to Varsity transition year. He lead the '08 Mustangs to a 6-7 record and the '09 squad to a 8-6-3 record.
Prior to his duties at KHS, Dowhen served as Head Coach of the Women's Soccer Program at Thomas Carr Howe Academy of Indianapolis for three seasons. He also spent one season as an Assistant Coach for Emmerich Manual High's (Indianapolis) Women's basketball team, under the tutelage of Head Coach Anthony Dunbar.
In 2009, Coach Dowhen was made the 1A West Head Coach for the 1st Annual PostYourT Indiana HS East vs. West AllStar Soccer Game. The 1A West went on to win the contest 3-1. After working with the AllStar games since March of 2009, he signed on to work with PostYourT full time. He now serves as the Director of Operations. Coach Dowhen will coach the 1A West Boys team in the 2nd Annual Indiana HS East vs. West AllStar Soccer Game on November 7th 2009.
Along with a strong sense of athlete accountability, Dowhen's team works with a high level of dedication and "before the whistle win" mindset. He is confident that the Mustangs' future varsity seasons will be full of growth and excitement.
